Ordering one personalized gift is easy. Ordering eighteen of them, each with a different name and number, by a deadline, with money collected from eighteen families, is a project. This guide is for the coach or team parent running it: what teams commonly order, how to budget per player, how to collect names and numbers without mistakes, and when to start.
What teams order for every player
The gifts that work in bulk share three things: each one is personalized with a number and name, they cost little enough to buy for everyone, and players actually use them. Every item below carries the player's number (or your own team logo), their name, and the school and sport, and each listing notes that teams ordering for every player get 30% off.
- Team Stickers, from $11: round kiss-cut vinyl for water bottles, laptops and helmets. The lowest-cost way to give every player something with their name on it.
- Team Fridge Magnet, from $15: a round die-cut magnet for the fridge, a locker or the car.
- Team Pin Buttons, from $22: a set of game day pins for each family to wear in the stands.
- Team Ornament, from $24: a clear acrylic ornament, the classic coach-to-player Christmas gift.
- Team Socks, from $26: crew socks with the number near the top and the name down the leg.
- Team Drawstring Bag, from $34: a 15 by 17 inch practice bag with the number printed big.
- Team Water Bottle, from $42: 17 ounces of stainless steel with the number and name on both sides.
Budgeting per player
Start with a per-player amount, then work backward. Here are the starting prices with 30% taken off, rounded. They are a starting point; the product page shows your exact total.
- Under $10 a player: a sticker, about $7.70.
- About $10 to $20: a magnet (about $10.50), a set of pins (about $15.40), an ornament (about $16.80) or socks (about $18.20).
- About $20 to $30: a drawstring bag (about $23.80) or a water bottle (about $29.40).
Pairing small items works well. A sticker with a water bottle, or a magnet with a pair of socks, feels like a real gift without stretching the budget. Count the coaches and team manager in your total, and leave a little room for a player who joins midseason.
Who pays
There are three common ways to fund a team gift. The coach pays, and it goes out as a gift from the coach. The team fund or booster club covers it. Or each family chips in a set amount and the team parent places one order. If families are paying, collect before you order, not after. Chasing money once the gifts have been handed out is the hardest part of the whole job.
Collecting names and numbers
Most mistakes on team orders come from the roster, not the printing. A few habits prevent them:
- Use one shared sheet. One row per player, with columns for the name exactly as it should print and the jersey number.
- Ask each family to confirm their own row. Parents catch spellings a coach misses, like Kaylee and Kaleigh.
- Decide first name, last name or both. Then do the same for everyone so the set matches.
- Check numbers against this season's jersey. Players change numbers between teams and seasons.
- Agree on the school and sport line. Lincoln Volleyball and Lincoln High Volleyball both work. Mixing them on one team doesn't.
If you want your team logo in place of the number, get the cleanest file you can from the club and make sure the club or school is fine with it being used. Don't use a league or tournament logo you don't own.
Deadlines that work
Count back from the day you want to hand the gifts out, and allow about two weeks for each order to arrive.
- Season opener or picture day: collect names at the first parent meeting and order that week.
- Christmas: order ornaments by mid-November so they are in hand before the last practice before break.
- End-of-season party or banquet: start collecting three weeks out and order no later than two weeks before.
Build in a few days of cushion for the family who answers late. Set your collection deadline a few days before the date you actually need, and you'll have it.

Ordering
Personalize each piece on its product page. Every order is checked by hand, and you'll see a proof to approve before anything prints. Allow about two weeks from order to delivery. A proof is a good moment to have one more parent check every name and number.
