Basketball fans live with the sport from fall to spring. Between the pro season, college conference play and the spring tournaments, a devoted fan watches a lot of games every winter, and still remembers the shot from twenty years ago. The ideas below are built from real games, so the gift matches the way they actually follow the sport.
Our prints use real game records in our own design, with no team or league logos. They work for any team and are independent keepsakes, not official merchandise.
For the fan in the stands
The Day You Were Born is a box score print of their team's real game from the day they were born. It covers pro basketball, both men's and women's, and men's and women's college basketball. If their team didn't play that day, we use the closest game that week, and we'll contact you before anything prints if there's a question. From $45.
Greatest Moments Since You Were Born picks the ten biggest games their team has played in their lifetime, chosen from the records by a scoring system printed right on it: titles, playoff rounds won, win-or-go-home games and comebacks from the line scores. It settles the argument about which game was really the best. From $45.
For a fan who follows every team in their city, Every Title in My Lifetime lists every championship their city's teams have won since the day they were born, in baseball, football, basketball, women's basketball and hockey, with the year, the team, who they beat and how old they were. From $45.
For the fan who travels to arenas
The Stadium Bucket List comes in a basketball arena version: every big-league arena on one map, with the ones they've been to filled in with the month and year. It's a fun way to turn a few road trips into a longer project. From $45.
If they have a game they'll never forget because they were there, I Was There makes the box score of any game they attended into a print. From $45.
For the fan who likes the history
Equipment Through the Years has a basketball edition: every piece of the game, era by era from its early days to now, shown in the original drawings from real U.S. patents, each marked with its year, patent number and inventor. Add a name or title. It works in a home gym, an office or a coach's room. From $45.
For the player in your house
Plenty of basketball fans are players first. If yours plays high school, travel or college ball, there are gifts made from their own numbers.
The Season, Basketball sets up to six season stats big and lists every game with the date, opponent, result and their line, plus the record and finish. Teams can order one for every player. From $45.
The Club is for the night they reached a milestone: 1,000 career points, a school record or any number that matters. The number is set huge with their name and number, the date and opponent of the night it happened, and every season on the way with the running total. From $45.
For a senior, Forever #12 hangs their number from the rafters on a championship-style banner with the school, the years they wore it and their career highlights. From $45.
To order these, you'll need the season's results and their stats. Most high school programs post them online, and the team's stat keeper or the coach can fill in the gaps.
Smaller gifts
For a stocking or a birthday add-on, the Born on Game Day Mug (from $24) has the scoreboard from their birthday game on one side and the story of the game on the other. Players might prefer a Team Water Bottle with their number and name, which gets used every practice. From $42, with 30% off when a team orders for every player.
How to choose
Start with how they follow the game. If they live and die with one team, go with their birthday game or Greatest Moments. If they're a road tripper, go with the arena map. If they play, go with their own season or milestone. When in doubt, a print from the day they were born is the gift almost every fan enjoys, because nobody else has the same one.
