College Signing Day Ideas: The Table, the Backdrop, the Announcement and the Keepsake

Signing Day Tablecloth: Their Name, Number and College Across the Front of the Table, Any Sport

Signing day is the end of one chapter and the start of the next. These pieces cover the whole road: getting noticed, announcing the decision, setting the table where they sign, and remembering the day. College and school names print as the words you type, in our own type, never as logos or official colors. You pick the color theme, from Field Green to Maroon and Gold or Navy and Red.

Before the decision: the recruiting profile

The Recruiting Profile is the one-page sheet college coaches ask for: measurables, season stats, honors, GPA and test scores, contact and a coach reference, with a QR code to the highlight video. Delivered as a PDF and an image. From $29. Our guide on how to make a recruiting profile walks through what to put on it.

The announcement

The Commitment Reveal is a 10-second vertical video for Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat that rolls through the high school career, then reveals COMMITTED TO and the college, with a story post and a square post to match. From $29.

Setting the signing table

Most schools hold signing day in the gym, the library or the commons: a table, a chair, a pen, the family behind the athlete and a phone camera in front. A little planning makes those photos look like a press conference instead of a lunch table.

Cover the table. The Signing Day Tablecloth drapes a standard 6-foot table (or a card table in the smaller size). Their name, number and position, SIGNED WITH and the college, and the class year run across the front drop, facing the room, with their name on the back and their number on top. From $95. If the school already has a plain tablecloth, the Signing Day Table Runner lays across it so each end hangs over the edge with their name and college. From $54.

Dress the wall. The Signing Day Backdrop hangs behind the chair: their number huge, their name and the college in the middle, and a quiet step-and-repeat of their number and name behind it, so every photo from every angle carries the day. From $45.

Finish the setup. The Commitment Flag comes as a small flag for the table and a porch flag for home, printed on both sides. The yard sign and the senior banner can read Signing Day, Decision Day or Committed instead of Senior Night. Every piece works for any sport, and for two or three athletes signing the same day, order one set each and line them up.

A simple signing day checklist

  • Confirm the date and room with the athletic director two to three weeks out.
  • Gather the exact spelling of the college, the position and the jersey number before ordering.
  • Order at least two weeks ahead; every piece is made to order and proofed first.
  • Bring a hat or shirt from the college if the athlete has one, and a nice pen.
  • Ask one person to take photos straight on, at table height, with the backdrop centered.

The keepsake for the wall

The Signing Day Print sets their name huge, then SIGNS WITH and the college, the career highlights and a quote. It hangs in the bedroom now and the dorm later. From $45.

For the parents

Four Years in the Stands is the athlete's thank-you to the people who drove to every game: every season, the miles and the moments. From $45.
